DiSanti, Alexander A. Esq., age 81 of Media, PA passed away on April 22, 2016.
Alexander graduated from St. Laurence School in 1948 and was awarded a full scholarship to LaSalle Prep. He graduated first in his class at West Catholic Prep (West Catholic High) in 1952 and was awarded a full scholarship to St. Joseph's University. Alexander graduated first in his class in 1956 and was awarded a full scholarship to University of Pennsylvania Law School.
After his graduation magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959, he served a judicial clerkship with Justice (later chief Justice) John C. Bell on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Upon completing the clerkship, Alexander was appointed to serve as counsel to a special committee headed by Jefferson B. Fordham, Dean of University of Pennsylvania Law School and was appointed to investigate and submit recommendations regarding the operation of Philadelphia city government.
He entered private practice in Delaware County in 1961, where he engaged in litigation, appellate practice, and estate planning/administration until retirement in 2013, working with the same firm for 52 years.
Alexander was President of the Delaware County Bar Association and a Representative for 20 years from the Delaware County Bar Association on the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He served on the Advisory Committee for Paralegal Studies at Delaware County Community College for 15 years. Alexander was past President of the Delaware County Friendly Sons of St. Patrick and a past member of the Optimist Club and Toastmasters Club of Upper Darby.
Throughout his career, he received many awards, including The Gem Award from the Law Chapter of the SJU Alumni Association and the Gilbert Nurick Award from Pennsylvania Conference of County Bar Leaders. Alexander was awarded the President's Award, the E. Wallace Chadwick Award, the Elizabeth C. Price Award, and the Judge Frank T. Hazel Award from the Delaware County Bar Association. He was named Man of the Year by Guy G. deFuria American Inn of Court, the Justinian Society of Delaware County, and the Delaware County Lawyers Club.
He was the beloved father of Alexander D. (Suzanne), Lynne, Sybil (W. Dale Barker) and the late Stephen D. DiSanti; the loving grandfather of Alexandra Daly, Nicholas and Thomas DiSanti; brother of Don DiSanti, the late Rosemary Clark, and Maryanne Appel; former husband of Joane DiSanti; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates.
