Carmine Dello Buono, age 89 of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away peacefully in Pt. Charlotte, FL November 28, 2013.
Carmine was born Chester, PA in 1924 to the late Emiddio and Antonia (nee Rascionato) Dello Buono. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his ship, the SS Glennon, was sunk in the invasion of Normandy he survived to continue service in the Pacific. After the war, Carmine worked at Sinclair Refinery in Marcus Hook, PA. as a Pipefitter He then worked for Buono Brothers Bakery as a Driver Salesman before retiring after 27 years. In 1989 Carmine and his wife Philomena moved to Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, vacations and sports.
His wife Philomena (nee Condy) passed away in 1993.
He is survived by his sons Carmen and Richard (Gladys) Dello Buono, daughter Susan (Michael) Deets; grandchildren Michael (Cheryl), Staci, Jenni and Scott Deets and Dominic and Esther Dello Buono; great-grandchildren Dylan and Jayden Deets and was the Brother-in-law of Joseph Fatula, Louise Dello Buono, Joseph (Joan) and Pasquale Condy, Eleanor (Joe) McLaughlin and Sister Agnes Leonore; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday 7-9 PM, and Friday 10-11 AM The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 610-449-0300 followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM . Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
