Mr. David Dewan

Dewan David Paul Dewan, 22, of Morton passed away Jan 15, 2014. David is the son of Paul D. Dewan and Kimberly A. Lucas Dewan and brother of Linda J. Dewan. His grandparents Frank X. Dewan, Jonathan and Debrorah Jaffe Lucas preceded him in death. Dave was a three-year letterman in football and wrestling at Springfield High School. In football, he was both an offensive and defensive starter in those three years. It was in 2010, in his senior year, that he excelled in wrestling, earning many honors and titles. He was the Southeast PIAA Regional Champion and a PA state medalist in the heavyweight division. He earned All-Delco honors and was a member of the AAU Junior Olympic National Championship Wrestling Team, where he earned All-American honors. Dave was employed in the home restoration industry. He was a kind, caring and compassionate person with a wonderful sense of humor who cared deeply about his long-time girlfriend and 7 week-old daughter Riley. Survivors; along with his parents, David is survived by his daughter Riley Ann Dewan of Springfield, grandmother Margaret E. Dewan of Collingdale, girlfriend Lauren Sperduto of Springfield also numerous aunts uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of David's life. Monday Jan 20, 2014 from 9 AM to 12 noon at James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home of Morton, 746 Kedron Ave (Rt. 420), followed by his funeral service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, a custodial account for the benefit of Riley Ann has been established for those wishing to contribute.
