Hopkins Donald W. Hopkins, 65, of Woodlyn PA,who was known to his family as Butch, and friends as Horse, died peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and entire family at Taylor Hospital on June 3,2012. Donald worked as a foreman for the Certainteed Corporation, Don for 31yrs was a friend of Dr. Bob and Bill W., Don counseled drug and alcohol for under aged children in Ridley Township for 10 years, Don was a volunteer member of the Woodlyn Fire Co. for 15 years, Don loved to garden, his neighbors would say he had the most beautiful rose garden on the block, Don loved to go to the Kedron Cheerleading competitions and root for his favorite cheerleader, granddaughter Alexis and team, Don enjoyed rooting for all the Philadelphia sports teams, but his biggest love of all was the times he spent with his wife of 47 years , his children and epically his grand and great grandchildren. Donald was the son of the late Donald L. and Alice Hopkins (nee Elliott), grandfather of the late Baby Donald Hopkins, and brother in law of the late Steven Dwyer, and father in law of the late Victor Peterson. Donald is survived by his wife Lois (nee Hibbert), his children, Maureen E. Angelucci Hopkins of Swarthmore, Donald P.Hopkins of Ridley Park, Richard D. (Danielle) Hopkins of West Chester, and Michelle A. Hopkins Peterson. Nephew of Mary (Charles) Carroll, brother of Alice (John) Guagenti, David (Theresa) Hopkins, Jane Ann (Norman) Williams, Richard (Carol) Hopkins, Gerry Dwyer, Joanne Marvel, and Christine (Paul) Goins, grandfather of Rebecca (Mathew) Natale, Michael (Michelle) Wajda, David Denk, Frank and Alexis Hartas, Alexandria, Julia, Nathen and Ava Rose Hopkins, great grandfather of Mathew, Joseph, Vincent, and Nicholas Natale, Anthony Denk, Michael and Leah Elizabeth Wajda, father in law of Angela Hopkins and Anthony Angelucci. Family and friends are invited to Don's Life Celebration Services on Saturday June 9th at the James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home of Morton 746 Kedron Ave (RT 420) viewing will be from 8am until 10am followed by his funeral mass 1030am at Our Lady Of Peace R/C Church, 208 Milmont ave, Milmont Park, Pa. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery Springfield PA. Contributions to The American Cancer Society 1626 Locust st. Phila PA 19103 and or Children's Hospital 34th and Civic Center Blvd. Phila PA. 19104 in memory of Donald W. Hopkins.
