Mr. George Nelson
March 27, 1931 — December 18, 2017
George Ronald Nelson, age 86, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on December 18, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Mildred Nelson (nee Dunlap).
Mr. Nelson served in the United States Army during the Korean War era where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was also a member of the First Troop Philadelphia City Calvary, the oldest mounted military unit in the United States. He received his Associate's Degree in Business Management from Pierce Junior College and was self-employed as an Executive Recruiter, when he retired in 2000.
Mr. Nelson was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine A. Nelson (nee Lapinas). He is survived by his loving children Lynn Russom (Ernest) and Brett Nelson (Ann), and his grandchildren Nelson Russom, Perry Russom and Abigail Nelson.
Services and interment are private.
