DeLuca Joseph F. DeLuca, loving father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, age 85, of Rutledge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2013, with his family by his side, at his daughter's home in Morton. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Mary (Capabianco) DeLuca and the late Thomas DeLuca. He was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School and a member of the school's Alumni Association. Joseph was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, and had been employed as an accountant with the United States Government for over 30 years at the U.S. Quartermaster Corps in South Philadelphia prior to his retirement. In addition to working for the government, he was also a bartender for many years at the William Penn Civic Association in West Philadelphia, and he also used his financial expertise to provide free income tax filing service for many years to his family and friends. Joseph is survived by his children; Joseph T. DeLuca (Sherry) of Woodlyn, Linda Buckler (Larry) of Morton, Marianne Baker (George) of Philadelphia, and Nancy DeLuca (Elizabeth Butler) of Vermont. He is also survived by his sister; Lucy Dadds, of Haddonfield, N.J., his brother; Dominic "Reds" DeLuca, of Weatherly, Pa., and his 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother; the late Rocco DeLuca. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph's Life Celebration on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home of Morton, 746 Kedron Avenue, Morton, Pa., 19070, and to his Memorial Service at 11:30 AM in the Funeral Home. Inurnment with Military Honors will immediately follow at Holy Cross R.C. Cemetery in Yeadon, Pa. In lieu of flowers, Joseph's family has respectfully requested that memorial donations in his name be made to the American Red Cross, 2221 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa., 19103, which would be deeply appreciated by his family.
