Grossi Michael J. Grossi, "Pop-Pop" 86, of Morton passed away on March 2, 2013 at Springfield Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Michael was the husband of the late Rose Schaefer Grossi. He was predeceased by his parents Carmen and Caterina (nee Contini) Grossi, four sisters Margaret, Irene, Lena, Rose and also one brother Joseph. Michael enjoyed his family especially his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He was a self employed Sheet Metal worker, an avid gardener and a sports enthusiast. A three-sport high school athlete at Darby High School who after graduating in 1944 played semi-pro baseball and was drafted by the "Boston Braves". He was also a World War II veteran who served in the Philippines. Survivors: Michael is survived by his loving children Deborah (Joseph) Gruhler of Morton, Michael (Susan) Grossi of Woodlyn and Cynthia (David) Collins of Broomall. Seven grandchildren Jacqueline, Joseph, Kristin, Lauren, Kelly, Madison and Danielle, one great granddaughter Rose, one brother John Grossi of Morton. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to Michaels Life Celebration Thursday 7-9PM and Friday March 8, 2013 10-11AM at James F. Knoetgen of Morton, 746 Kedron Ave, (Rt. 420) followed by his funeral service at 11AM.
