Paul Gazzerro, Jr., age 84, of Bryn Mawr, PA, passed away on October 16, 2017.
Born and raised in Providence, RI, Paul was the dear son of the late Paul and Concetta (Fiorellino) Gazzerro, Sr.
Paul was the beloved husband of Sally J. Gazzerro (nee Johnson), loving father of Mary Gazzerro Bernate of Bradenton, FL, Paul Gazzerro, III of Brooklyn, NY, and Peter Gazzerro of San Diego, CA. He was the devoted grandfather of Nicolas, Elizabeth and Danielle Bernate, and Mark and Anna Gazzerro. Paul was the caring brother of Margaret DeRaimo and Angelo Gazzerro.
After graduating from Bryant University with a BA and Syracuse University with an MBA plus serving in the Finance Corp of the U.S.Army, he spent almost his entire working life in the health and education field. Beginning as Controller at State University Hospital of the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY, he continued on to become Asst. VP of Finance at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois; Ass. V. Chancellor for Medical Affairs for Operation and Fiscal Planning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee; Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer at Hahnemann University of Health Science, Philadelphia; VP for Finance and Chief Financial Officer at University of PA; Senior VP for Administration and Finance at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and finally retiring after 13 years as VP for Administration and Finance at Albright College with an honorary title of VP Emeritus of Albright College.
Outside of work, he served on both the St. John Neumann's parish council and finance committee.
He also enjoyed reading, spectator sports, home improvement activities, and yearly summer visits to Bermuda.
