Peter Howes Oleskey, age 68, beloved son of New England, passed away on January 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Concord, NH, he was the son of the late Anthony and Ruth Oleskey (née Howes). Peter was born and raised in Concord, NH. He went on to live in Rochester, NY, Hyannis, MA, Cambridge, MA. and Newtown Square, PA.
Peter received his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire. He served honorably as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and from that experience derived a life-long hatred of war. He was employed in Materials Management with Eastman-Kodak in Rochester, NY, until his early retirement caused by the onset of Parkinson's Disease. Peter was an avid sailor who loved taking friends and family around Lake Ontario in his boat, Breezer. Peter will be remembered for his impish sense of humor, his gentle nature, his unflagging courage in the face of his long-term illness and his love of friends and family.
Peter is survived by his sons Christopher (Erin), Mark (Christine) and Patrick (Tammy Robinson), his grandchild Cormac Oleskey, his brother Stephen (Judith Tick), his nieces Allison Oleskey and Erica Grossman, his grand-niece Liv and his beloved Cocker Spaniel, Tucker.
Services have been held and interment will be private at the family plot in Dennis, Mass.
