Robert E. Weyhmuller (Bob), age 91, of Springfield, Delaware County and formerly of Lansdowne, Delaware County passed away peacefully at his home on May 28, 2016. Beloved husband of the late Delores Weyhmuller (nee Gosnay). Loving father of Rosann L. Berry (John), Robert E. Jr. (Arlene), Janet M. Allen (David-deceased), Barbara J. Tuttle (Bart), and William T. Weyhmuller. Devoted grandfather of John J. Berry Jr. (Lee), Keith M. Berry, Lisa Mae Berry, Luke Weyhmuller (Julee), Aubrey Rose Roesener (Andrew), Alaina K. Allen, Julianne K. Tuttle, and the late Kristin Louise Tuttle, and great-grandfather of Richie Groff, Daulton Berry, Skylar Berry, and Jack Berry. Mr. Weyhmuller was born in Philadelphia and attended John Bartram High School and Drexel University. He worked at Atlantic Refining Company for 37 years as a pipe fitter and later a Job Foreman and Special Projects Supervisor, retiring in 1983. He served his country in the U.S. Army from May of 1943 until June of 1946 during which time he served in General Patton's Third Army. Staff Sergeant Weyhmuller earned several medals, the highest being the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. Mr. Weyhmuller was proud of the American Flag, displaying it at his home and celebrating Flag Day. His hobbies included golfing, playing cards with his friends, and playing the organ. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Robert's life on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9 to 10:45 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Avenue, Morton, PA 19070. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation in Robert's name may be made to Purple Heart, Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation, Inc. 7008 Little River Turnpike, PO Box 49, Annandale, VA 22003 or your favorite Veterans organization.
