Mrs. Anne Smarkola

Smarkola Anne Marie O'Connell Smarkola, 82, formerly of Woodlyn, PA Passed away on Thursday, Jan 3, 2013. She was the wife of the late George J. Smarkola, Sr. She was predeceased by her son, George J. Smarkola, Jr as well as her brother William and sister Joan Anderson. Anne was a long time employee of the Ridley School District, having served as a library aide at Grace Park Elementary School. While raising her children, Anne was very active in volunteer activities including Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and school Functions. Later in life, Anne enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching sports on TV and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors; Anne is survived by her children Sandy Hassinger of Collegeville, Chuck Smarkola of Linwood, and Kathy McDonald of Broken Arrow, OK, as well as 13 grandchildren, sister Kathleen Mayer and brothers Jack, Charles and Joseph O'Connell. Services: Friends are invited to join Anne's family for a memorial service on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, 11AM at James F.
