Mrs. Bettie Wertz

Wertz Bettie Jane Wertz, age 93, of Holmes, PA and formerly of West Philadelphia, PA passed away on October 25, 2013. Beloved wife of the late William Wertz. Loving mother of Kenneth (Yuki) Wertz of Murrieta , CA and Linda (William) McElyae of Oxford, PA. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (William) Gresh, David Greller, Janet (Timothy) Marsh, and Melissa Greller, and great-grandmother of Grant and Jackson. Bettie Jane was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving her country in WWII. She worked at Fidelity Bank for over 25 years, lastly as Secretary to the President of the bank. Bettie Jane loved the arts, and loved to sing as well. She was a member of a barbershop quartet and her church choir at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Secane, PA. She was also a devoted Phillies fan. Relatives and friends are invited to Bettie Jane's Life Celebration on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 9 to 10 AM in James F. Knoetgen of Morton, PA 19070. Funeral service to follow at 10 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation in Bettie Jane's name may be made to St. Francis Country House, 1412 Lansdowne Ave., Darby , PA 19023.
