Mrs. Dorothy Steever

February 17, 1924 — September 23, 2017

Dorothy Hellerman Steever, 93, a lifelong resident of suburban Philadelphia and wife of the late G. Edmund Steever, died September 23 at her residence at Freedom Village in Coatesville.



She began life on her family's Lansdale PA farm

-

a descendent of more than four generations of American-born "Pennsylvania Dutch." Together with her husband, Ed, she raised her family in Concordville and was both a school volunteer and avid cheerleader for her sons' sports endeavors. Dorothy and Ed were proud members of the Greatest Generation and together they attended many reunions of Ed's World War II 1255th Combat Engineers unit.



Dorothy was a loving mother to two sons, the late Robert Steever and to James Steever of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts as well as his wife, Patricia Flynn Steever.



She also leaves two dear grandchildren and two great grandsons: Jennifer Steever Rego of Arlington MA, husband Dinesh Rego and son Alexander James Rego and Jeffrey A. Steever of Huntersville, NC, together with his wife Amy Getz Steever, and their son, Austin Jeffrey. A third grandchild, Christine Marie, daughter of Robert predeceased her grandmother.



Relatives and Friends are invited to her Visitation at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382 from 10:00 to 10:50 am on Wed., September 27, 2017 followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.
