Mrs. Eleanor Connolly

Connolly Eleanor F. Connolly(nee Toner) age 88, former longtime resident of Philadelphia and currently of Milmont Park, PA died on December 10, 2013 from complications of heart disease at home surrounded by her family. Survived by her loving daughter , Maureen A. Connolly, daughter-in-law Heather Connolly, grandchildren; Tara , Kevin, and Sean, her brother-in-law Thomas F. Connolly, and her loving nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick and Catherine Toner, of Ireland, her husband John P. Connolly Sr., and her son John P. Connolly Jr. Eleanor was born in the Southwest section of Philadelphia. She attended St. Barnabas Grade School and was a 1944 graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. Upon graduation, she was employed by the Philadelphia Navy Yard. She moved to the Logan section Philadelphia after her marriage to John P. Connolly, a Philadelphia Police Officer, where they and their children were members of Holy Child Parish.. They later moved to St. Ambrose Parish and enjoyed 45 years of marriage before his death in 1998. Mrs. Connolly moved with her daughter, Maureen, to Milmont Park, PA in 2000 to be closer to family and became a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Mrs. Connolly loved to read , discuss politics,, entertain on her back porch, and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was happiest when spending time with her loving family and friends. She was a woman of great faith and devoted to the Blessed Mother. She will be greatly missed by all. Relatives and friends are invited to Eleanor's Life Celebration on Monday , December 16,2013 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in James F. Knoetgen of Morton, PA , 746 Kedron Ave (Route 420) , Morton, PA 19070 and to her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Peace Church, 200 Milmont Ave, Milmont Park, PA 19033.
