Mrs. Helen Howat

Howat Helen Elizabeth Howat(nee Getz), passed away on September 7, 2013 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late John Howat. Loving mother of John Howat (Francie) of Lester, PA and the late Alex Howat(Ruth) of Rehoboth Beach, DE.Cherished grandmother of Christopher Howat (Lisa Robinson) and Katy McGinley(John).Great-grandmother of Christopher, Haley, and Maren. Dear sister of Al Getz. Preceded in death by her siblings; Mary, George , Paul, Joe, and Jack Getz. Helen was an 86 year resident of Eddystone, PA. She graduated from Eddystone High School , Class of 1936. She waitressed for 60 years in the area, beginnin at the Overbrook Diner (20 years), Anderson House(20 years), Norwood Diner(10 years), and the Ramada Inn(10 years). Helen loved to play Bingo and visit the casinos. But her greatest joy was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Relatives and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration on Wednesday, Sep.11, 2013 from 10 to 11 AM in James F. Knoetgen of Morton, PA, 746 Kedron Ave,(Route 420), Morton, PA 19070. Funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Interment Chester Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation in Helen's name may be made to Delaware County S.P.C.A. , 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media,PA 19063.
