Michelle G. Gaffney (nee Gane), 62, of Broomall, PA passed away on January 21, 2017.
Born in Darby, PA in 1954, she was the daughter of the late Anna Marie (nee Breen) and Rolf Gane, Sr.
Michelle was the beloved wife of Jim Gaffney; loving mother of Tish Gaffney and Jamie Gaffney (Amber); dear sister of Patricia Olekszyk, her identical twin, and Rolf Gane, Jr.
Micki was unique. Her sense of humor was like no one else; she could be found dressing up her dogs, sketching cartoons, to taking funny pictures. But what she was most know for is her kindness to others. She would give the shirt off her back if you needed it or even just liked it. When times were difficult she would take charge and help as she could. She loved her husband and children more than anything and this included her fur family as well (Kenzie and the late Tigger and Fiona).
Creativity was her calling. She was a photographer and artist (particularly with fabric). She loved quilting, she taught classes locally and even in the home. Our house is filled with her work and each piece is unique. Over the years she was also involved in Scottish Dancing in the Delaware Valley Branch with her husband.
She always said when she passed that she didn't want people to be sad, but to party and celebrate her life.
Please consider becoming an organ donor, as in life and in death, she wanted to help others. Being an organ donor, she was able to help others after her passing.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michelle's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214. The American Heart Association was an organization that she was actively involved with since her open heart surgery as a young child.
