Paula Jean (Phillips) O'Donnell Original Owner of Healing Kneads Massage Center Paula Jean (Phillips) O'Donnell, died September 14, 2011. Born August 5, 1970 she was the daughter of Paul E. Phillips of Folcroft and Frances (Sherry) (Carmichael) Wimmer of New Castle, DE. The oldest of three children Paula grew up on Roberta Ave, Collingdale, PA. She was an enthusiastic student and athlete; she enjoyed team swimming at the Norwood and Collingdale Swim clubs, playing baseball with the Collingdale AA at Veterans field. She also liked riding dirt bikes and motorcycles and enjoyed horse-back riding. A graduate of Academy Park High School 1988, then a Teachers License from New Concept Beauty Academy, 1989 and an Associate's Degree from Delaware County Community College 2004. Along the way she worked for Jims Auto Service Center Chester, Pendel & Company Norristown and Schatzberg Chiropractic Center, Media. She went to the Delaware Institute for Massage Therapy and became a National Board Certified Massage Therapist, specializing in Therapeutic, Sports, Cranial Sacral and Lymphatic Drainage Massage. In 2001 Paula opened Healing Kneads Wellness Center in Secane, PA and moved the business to Swarthmore in 2005 and added exercise classes. In 2007 the name changed to Healing Kneads Massage & Exercise Center and in 2011 moved to Broomall in the Lawrence Park Business Center. Paula helped out when she could during the last few months working in the office and holding classes for the Body, Mind and Spirit. Paula was a teacher by nature. She married her childhood sweetheart and soul-mate David O'Donnell. Known for his commitment to family and friends David and Paula went on to build their home and life together, she enjoyed the outdoors with him, dirt bikes, motorcycles, and four wheelers, whatever they did, they did together. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a member of Berean Bible Chapel in Middletown, PA. Paula will always be remembered for her commitment to her family and friends, her sparkling spirit, never-ending generosity, and will be missed for her happy demeanor. Granddaughter of the late Francis (Frank) Carmichael. Survivors: She is survived by her husband David; mother, Sherry Wimmer (Bob); father, Paul E Phillips (Christine); brothers, Mark; Eric; (Chantel) Phillips; Step-brothers James Weeden (Gina); Jerry Elden (Megan); Jason Weeden; Grandmother, Frances Carmichael, mother-in-law, Georgetta O'Donnell; brother-in-law, Richard O'Donnell; (Christine), sisters-in-law, Kathy McGinley Lucy McGinley; many nieces, nephews, friends, and her buddy, Whitney the dog. Visitation: 6-9 PM Friday, September 16, 2011 at James F. Knoetgen Funeral Home, Morton, PA 19070 (Rt 420). Service at the Funeral Home at 10AM Saturday, September 17, 2011. Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Contributions: in lieu of flowers and in her memory may be made out to either Hibernia Farms or Sherry Fetterolf.
