Mrs. Rita Myrtetus
December 12, 1934 — April 15, 2016
Rita "Linda" Myrtetus (nee Scannell), age 81, of St. Davids, PA, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away on April 15, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Rita Scannell (nee Smith).
Linda graduated from West Catholic Girls' High School, after which she trained and worked as an x-ray technician. After raising her children, she worked as an Assistant to the Dean at Villanova University. Upon retiring from Villanova, Linda volunteered at Bryn Mawr Hospital and as a driver for Project Hope.
Linda is survived by her beloved children Carol Ann Myrtetus, Barbara Sturgeon (John) and Susan McCann (Michael), her loving grandchildren Christopher and Alex Gonzalez, Connor, Mimi, Christine and Ryan McCann and Clay and Caleigh Sturgeon. She is also survived by her sister Penny Curley (the late Dick) and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Thursday, April 21, 2016 7:00-9:00 PM The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600 and Friday, April 22, 2016 9:30-10:30 AM St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster and Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda's memory to the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation, 130 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 would be appreciated.
