Thomas L. Trainor, "Mr T", age 83, of Springfield, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on February 1, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marie Trainor (nee Kelly).
Tom was a 1950 graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era. He was employed as an electrician at the University of Pennsylvania for 20 years. Prior to that, he was a member of Union Local 103 of the IBEW. He was a former parishioner of St. Cyril of Alexandria Church in East Lansdowne.
He was a softball coach for 69th Street AA in Upper Darby and many other teams in the Delaware County area. He coached several state championship teams which went on to compete at the national level, one of which will be soon be inducted into the ASA Pennsylvania Hall of Fame. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He loved his family.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Micki Trainor (nee McSorley), with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He is also survived by his loving children John (Christina), Tom (Donna), Chris (Kimberly), Pat (Christine) and Mike (Sharon) and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Trainor.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, February 5, 2016 10:30 AM-11:50 AM St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA and to his Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
