Kenyon William E. Kenyon, age 96, a 60 year resident of Springfield, PA passed away peacefully at Wallingford Nursing and Rehab on May 31, 2013. Beloved husband of 52 years to the late Esther I. Kenyon. Loving father of Janet (Jack) Campbell of Berwyn, PA, Bill (Nancy) of Milmont Park, PA, Bob (Sue) of Rutledge, PA, Jim (Betty) of Simpsonville, SC, and Judy (Bob) Zizza of North Cape May , NJ. Cherished grandfather of Wendy(Todd) Wolov, Cynthia (Brett) Shallcross, Ed (Jenn) , Colleen (Tim ) Leska, Rena (Rick) Magoon, Stacy (Brett) Hampton, Rob(Courtney) , Brian (Danelle), Jim (Stacey Massey), and Michelle (Matt ) Roberts, and great-grandfather of 15. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sisters Bessie(Carroll) Woolley and Doris (George) Vile , and brother Harry Kenyon. Mr. Kenyon was born in Chester, PA and raised in Darby, PA. He proudly served in the United States Navy in World War II. He survived the sinking of the USS Quincy on August 9, 1942 at the Battle of Savo Island. He was a Master Cabinetmaker , working for Ahrens Lumber Mills in Glen Riddle, PA for 25 years. He also used these skills in his own business as a carpenter and handyman. Bill was an Abraham Lincoln enthusiast, and charter member of the Springfield VFW Post 5705. Relatives and friends are invited to Bill's Life Celebration on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM in James F. Knoetgen of Morton, PA, 746 Kedron Ave., Morton, PA 19070.
