Zahka William J. Zahka, 84, of Swarthmore, Pa., Husband of Vivian (nee Karsa) Zahka, passed away on September 12, 2013, at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor Hospital after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was the Son of the late Mary (nee Nahat) Zahka and the late Joseph Zahka. He was a Professor of Economics at Widener University for 40 years. Among his many achievements during his career William was the recipient of "The Distinguished Professor Award" three times. He also received the "Outstanding Faculty" and "Outstanding Service" Awards. He was well known in the Economics World for the book he wrote which was published in 1992, and he proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his Wife he is also survived by his Daughters; Tina Michel, of Milmont Park, Pa., Carrie Doheny, of Wallingford, Pa., his Granddaughters; Nicole and Stephanie, and his Siblings; George, Albert, Madeline, Adele, and many Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his Son-In-Law, the late Mark Michel. Funeral Services and inurnment with Military Honors at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery will be held privately by his family. The family has respectfully requested that anyone wishing to do so may make a memorial contribution to the William J.
