Myrtle I. George

Myrtle Irene George, 91, of West Chester, PA, passed away March 2, 2022.

Born March 4, 1930 in Danville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Celia (nee Zulazienski) Megargel.

Myrtle was a graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she also met her husband of 47 years, Joseph. Myrtle taught elementary school at Mary C. House West Chester School District for 27 years. She was a member of Grove Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday school. Myrtle was a member of the tabernacle choir there for over 40 years and a volunteer at the library for many years. She and her husband loved travel, music, and the closeness of their family – Melanie, Jeff, Di, Max, and Maddy.

Myrtle was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Dennis George; loving mother of Melanie D. George, Dorian A. Allworthy, and Jeffrey A. George; adoring grandmother of Maxwell V. George and Madeline A. George; and dear sister of Jesse Winter (Lyle). She was predeceased by her brothers.
