Nancy A. Dieter, 74, of Downingtown, PA, passed away July 14, 2024.
Born November 22, 1949 in Batavia, NY, she was a daughter of the late Ray Cox and Arlene Mae (nee Smith) Chamberlain.
Nancy led a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Nancy grew up on her family’s dairy farm, HiLand Farms, in Wyoming, NY. She enjoyed riding horses, picking apples, and participating in 4H. Nancy was also named New York State Jersey Queen in 1966. After graduating from Wyoming Central, Nancy traveled to West Virginia and attended Salem College where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. Nancy also played field hockey and was in the Sigma Sigma Phi sorority.
After graduation, Nancy married Todd and moved to PA to raise their family in Upper Darby. Nancy was a loving wife for 49 years. As a devoted mother, she selflessly dedicated herself to nurturing her sons and creating a home filled with warmth and laughter. For over 40 years, Nancy was a parishioner, a Sunday School teacher, then Deacon and Elder at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church, Upper Darby, PA. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her gentle spirit and compassionate nature.
When Nancy was not working at Principal Insurance, she found joy in simple pleasures – monthly book clubs, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She loved swimming at the YMCA and spending time on the beach or a lake. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her wisdom and guidance will be cherished forever.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Todd W. Dieter; loving mother of Scott Dieter (Shannan) and Andrew Dieter (Anne); adoring grandmother of Alexandra, Cameryn, Keira, Wyatt, Owen, and Gavin; and dear sister of David Chamberlain (Dana), Greg Chamberlain (Jodi), and Diane Chamberlain. She was predeceased by her daughter, Amy, and her brothers: Stan and Dean.
Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Nancy has found peace and will live on in our hearts forever.
