Nancy J. Eberle

Nancy J. Eberle (nee Hillerman) passed away on December 29 at age 84.

Nancy was born and raised with her awesome sister Claire Marshall (Joe) in NE Philadelphia. It
was after graduation from Lincoln HS Nancy began correspondence with Jim, a handsome guy
serving in Korea. When he came home they married and shared an unbreakable love for over
66 years. Jim holds dear their time together.

Nancy and Jim made their home in Havertown. Somehow Nancy managed a full-time position
as Controller at Robert Ford Electric Co. for 35 years while raising Kim Wang (Hoau), Karen
Pedano, Jamie Eberle and Kristen Anucha (Chi) to be strong independent women. Nancy never
let her girls down! A talented seamstress, she made everything from Christening gowns to
Halloween costumes (the best) to bridesmaid dresses. As a mother, Nancy never missed a beat
when it came to her girls’ needs.

Nancy enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, reading books by her pool, phone calls with friends,
travel and her time in Ocean City. She cherished her summers as a youth in Rehoboth Beach
with her cousins. Nancy had a passion for interior design of her home, keeping all décor and
paint fresh and current (so many paint samples), the house always looked great. Although
Nancy only stood 4’ 11”, she was quite the powerhouse. Her dry wit kept us laughing and on
our toes!

Above all else, Nancy was the best Nana. Her world stopped when it came to Ethan, Emily,
Jordan, Brendan, Timmy, Sabrina, Kelechi and Eze. Nancy’s unconditional love, support and
guidance is clearly reflected in the kindness and goodness of her grandchildren.

Nancy hated the cold. Every Fall when the leaves turned she jokingly asked if it was Spring yet.
And this is true, her last words with a sly smile, “Is it Spring yet?” Yes Mom, it is Spring. A
memorial service will be held in June.

Almost forgot! It was cancer (Goblet Cell) and it sucked (Nancy’s words). A big shout out to all
the folks in the treatment room at Bryn Mawr, you are just amazing!
