Nancy Griffin McElroy, age 73, of Malvern, passed away on April 21, 2016.
Born in McKees Rocks, PA, in 1942 to the late William and Helen (McCartney) Griffin, Nancy graduated from Baldwin High School in Baldwin, PA, in 1960. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Allegheny College in 1964 and later studied Education at Immaculata University.
Nancy was an active member of Rolling Green Golf Club and enjoyed her ladies' golf group, and especially playing bridge, at which she excelled. She was active in fundraising and Alumni Affairs at Allegheny College. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, was a voracious reader, and loved spending summers on Thompson Lake in Maine. Her true passion, however, was taking care of her family.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" McElroy, and her cherished children, Beth Anne Gunlikson of Whitefish, MT, Julie M. Conners of Chadds Ford, and Jeffrey C. McElroy of Wayne. She also leaves behind her beloved children-in-law, Ryan T. Gunlikson, Ted Everson, and Alison Diamond McElroy. She will be dearly missed by her adored grandchildren: Tom, Emily, Sara, Griffin, Casey, Hadley, and Vivian. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Jane Griffin Evans, of McMurray, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:30 to 11:30 AM Friday, April 29, 2016 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-269-3080 followed by her Memorial Service at 11:30 AM.
