Nellie Marasco (nee Nass), age 96, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on September 8, 2021. Born in Antwerp, Belgium, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Melanie Nass (nee Coen).
Nellie was a vibrant, adventurous woman. She loved life, had a wonderful sense of humor and was a dedicated worker for many charities throughout her long life. Nellie enjoyed sewing, dancing with her husband, Lou, going to the opera with her friends, cooking and baking. She was a world traveler, both foreign and domestic, and especially loved Disney World with her family.
Nellie volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House, the Red Cross, the USO, and the Franklin Institute. She was a healthcare Ombudsman with the State of Pennsylvania, a Minority Inspector of Elections in the City of Philadelphia, and a volunteer at St. Francis Xavier Church.
Nellie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Marasco. She is survived by her son, John Braccio (Theresa Bryant), her daughter, Jocelyne Dugan (the late Stephen Dugan), and her step-daughter, Angela Marasco Gresser (Julian). Also survived by her grandchildren Audrey Braccio, Nathan Braccio, Samantha Dugan and Celine Dugan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 9:15-10:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2319 Green Street, Philadelphia, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nellie’s memory to The Ronald McDonald House, 3925 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 would be appreciated.
