Nicole Ann Schneider Bomberger, age 38, of Mount Joy, PA, passed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy following a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Born and raised in Sharon Hill, Nicole enjoyed playing various sports for Holy Spirit CYO, Sharon Hill Athletic Association, and the Sharon Hill Swim Club. For many years, Nicole was a proud member of the Comets Girls Basketball Club. Nicole was a 1997 graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur where she participated in Basketball, Softball and Cross Country and was awarded many honors including Daily Times All Delco First Team for Softball and Second Team for Basketball. Nicole currently shares the record for most individual points scored in a basketball game at Notre Dame. Additionally, Nicole was the first recipient of the Aimee Willard Memorial Award at graduation. Nicole earned a degree in Marketing from Millersville University in 2001 where she was an integral member of the Lady Marauders Basketball Team and Sigma Phi Delta sorority. Following Graduation, Nicole was employed by Reprint Management Services, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and most recently, The Hershey Company. Her passion for life and her family were evident to everyone she encountered. Nicole loved coaching Hailey and Kinsey in softball, soccer and basketball. She most recently enjoyed watching Hailey and Kinsey swim for the Mount Joy Swim Team. Nicole was also significantly involved with the Donegal Primary School PTO. An active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, Nicole enjoyed helping with children's ministries, PPRT and being a small group leader. Following her diagnosis in 2015, Nicole started a local support group for young women facing breast cancer, her "pink sisters". Nicole loved spending time with her family and friends, especially during family trips to Disney World.
Nicole is survived by her loving husband, Torrey; daughters Hailey (8) and Kinsey (5); father James Schneider of Sharon Hill; sister Laurie Waters (Joe) of Aston; sister Mary DelVecchio (Thomas) of Folsom; 3 nephews Joey Waters, Michael Waters and Logan DelVecchio; niece Nina DelVecchio; Dwight and Patricia Bomberger of Manheim; Tiersha Bomberger of Manheim and Tyson Bomberger (Kimbra) of Elizabethtown; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nicole was pre-deceased by her mother Virginia Schneider; and her grandparents William and Anna Mae Hallissey and Charles and Mary Joan Schneider.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Wednesday, July 12th 5:30-8:30 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382 and Thursday, July 13th 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 37 E. Main Street, Mount Joy, PA, 17552 followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
