Norma Ruth Meister (nee Waterhouse), 88, of West Chester, PA passed away on May 18, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia in 1925 at St. Vincent's Hospital; raised in Delaware County and graduated Sharon Hill High School; Norma was the daughter of the late Sarah (nee Lofft) and Norman Waterhouse of Bingley, Yorkshire, England.
Norma was the beloved wife of the late John Meister who served as Air Force Sergeant during WWII stationed at Hickam Field on the island of O'ahu; Norma met her life-long love while they worked together at the General Electric Company then located on Woodland Avenue in West Philadelphia. Norma spoke often of childhood summers spent at the Jersey Shore - Atlantic City - and during the early years of her marriage with her husband and his family at Sea Isle City. She enjoyed walking outdoors, embroidering and was an avid reader. Ever the romantic, her favorite movie was "An Affair to Remember". Norma loved chocolate, the color Blue and Christmas. But what she loved most was her Family. Norma was the loving Mother of Jacqueline L. Meister and Gary J. Meister (Christy) and the adoring Grandmother of Gabrielle, Kellie and Allyson. Family meant everything to Norma and she devoted herself to her husband, children and grandchildren throughout her many years .
Norma was an active member of the United Church of Christ East Goshen in West Chester PA. in which she found renewed purpose, dear friends and through which she learned that Love and Compassion and Great Love that forms everlasting bonds comes in all shapes, sizes and colors of the rainbow.
