Padam Prasad Paudel, age 86, of West Chester PA, passed away Saturday, November 11th, 2023. He was the son of Rudra and Indra (nẽe Sharma) Paudel.
Padam came to the United States in 1970 from Burma to escape the communist regime there in the hopes of having a better life for his wife and children. Padam would go on to become a United States citizen and was very proud to be an American.
He was a kind and gentle man that took much pride in his work as a Physician. As a Radiation Oncologist, he was extremely gifted having studied at the famous Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and he would later go on to be the Director of Radiation Oncology at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Illinois.
Padam was also very involved and a leader in his community. As an immigrant to the United States, he worked with the community to establish the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago and founded the Association of Nepalese in Midwest America (ANMA). He also loved to entertain guests in his home, play cards with friends and family and he loved to travel, having been to over 50 countries.
He had many accomplishments, but first and foremost was the love of family. Padam was the beloved husband of Amar K. Paudel (nẽe Usha Dalbir); Loving father of Sanjay (Kapila), Vijay (Dipti), and Ravi (Valerie); Devoted grandfather of Milan, Paras, Anisha, Anika, Rishi, Rama, and Rudra; Dear Uncle of Dinesh Dalbir (Sumita), and Yana; and caring brother of Prem Paudel.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wednesday November 15th, 2023 10:30AM to 11:30AM followed by his Funeral Service 11:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, 610-449-0300.
