Page S. Ufford, Jr., 92, of West Brandywine Twp., formerly of Newark, DE and Middlebury, VT., passed away on September 22, 2013.
Born in Middlebury, VT in 1921, Page was the son of Ildah (Gale) and Page S. Ufford, Sr., both deceased.
He was a 1939 graduate of Middlebury High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Middlebury College in 1943 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He worked as a licensed Professional Engineer for DuPont Chemical Company in Newark, DE as a Project Manager for Major Plant Design until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
Page served honorably in the US Marine Corps during World War II. He spent time in Saipan & Guam as a 2nd Lieutenant, Specialty Infantry Officer.
Page was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Doris (Carter) Ufford in 2006.
Page is survived by his sons, John C. Ufford (Kerry P.) and Robert P. Ufford (Rhonda K.), his grandchildren, Kimberly Casey (Edward) and Robert K. Ufford (Ashley) and his great-grandchild, Kylie Paige Casey.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service 2:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Freedom Village, West Brandywine, PA. His interment will be in Middlebury, VT.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, 30 South 17th Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
