Patrice Ann Guiney, nee McAllister, a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dedicated her life to her family, her community and her Catholic faith, died peacefully on March 1, 2023.  She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 27, 1925.  She was the oldest of eight children of Anthony J. and Marjorie B. McAllister.  Her father was the president of the family business, McAllister Towing and Transportation, and as such, tugboats, ferry rides, and being on the water were a joyful part of her life. She attended Holy Innocents parish school, Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School for girls and earned a BA in Math and Physics from the College of New Rochelle. She then attended Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service.  In 1972, she received a teaching certificate from Cabrini College.

In addition to her life in Prospect Park South, she enjoyed fabulous summers with her large Irish family on Long Island in Belle Terre, New York.

Upon graduating from college, she became a social worker with the Angel Guardian Guild of Brooklyn.  In 1951 she met and later married the love of her life, Francis Michael (Lou) Guiney of Floral Park, New York.  The couple went on to have six daughters – Catherine, Megan, Shannon, Colleen, Bridget and Michaela, and were married for fifty years.  The family moved several times eventually settling in the Philadelphia area, first in Bala Cynwyd and later in Wayne. Over the course of 50 years in Wayne, Patrice focused on raising her children.  She was an active member of the Saint Katharine of Siena parish.  She was a daily communicant, and among the first group of commissioned Eucharistic Ministers. She frequently made casseroles for shut-ins, helped host unhoused people in the parish center and tutored at St. Martin de Porres in North Philadelphia.

Patrice worked as a substitute teacher in the Tredyffrin Township School District and  was a library staff  person at Radnor Memorial Library.  In 1993, she ran and was elected to the Radnor Township School Board where she served for two terms.

She was predeceased by her husband (2002), her parents, as well as her sisters  Marjorie McAllister Toner and Eileen McAllister Donovan, and brothers Anthony, Donal, and Brian, and her grandson Tucker Charles Breuer. She is survived by two brothers – Bruce (Rebecca) of West Palm Beach, FL and Michael (Patricia) of Bronxville and Saltaire, NY, her sister-in-law Rosemary Owens McAllister of New York City and Westhampton Beach, NY as well as her six daughters – Catherine Galletly (Donald), Megan Connolly (Mark), Shannon Breuer (Charles),  Colleen Guiney (Gerard Murray), Bridget Devine (Jay) and Michaela Guiney (Bruce Ramstad), fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
