Patricia M. Fitzgerald Buckton, age 88, of West Chester, PA, entered eternal rest on June 26, 2023.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1935, she was the daughter of the late John Watson and Marie (nee Duckett) Fitzgerald. Patricia was the wife of the late John J. Buckton.
Patricia grew up in South Philadelphia and attended St. Monica Parochial School. Her family later moved to Springfield, PA where she graduated from Springfield High School. In school, Patricia had an enjoyment of mathematics which led her to a career in banking, trusts, and real estate. Her home was in Havertown and later West Chester, PA but her "home away from home" during her golden years was at St. Mary Center in Lansdale, PA. Patricia's family recognize and appreciate the staff at St. Mary Center who gave their unfailing care to her.
Patricia was a "people person" who loved to listen to others' stories. She displayed a generous heart and compassionate spirit. Patricia always put Jesus and others before her own needs. She was a daily communicant at Mass during most of her life. Her joy in life was traveling. Patricia's favorite adventures were to Hawaii and especially to the Vatican. Patricia enjoyed all genres of music. Her favorite song was "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Patricia was a talented ballroom dancer. She was a fan of the television show, Dancing with the Stars.
Patricia was predeceased by her three dear sisters: Mary T. McLaughlin, Margaret Howe, and Madeleine Robertson.
Aunt Pat will be greatly missed by her niece, Donna Marie McLaughlin of West Chester, PA who was her primary caregiver for many years. Aunt Pat sang the praises of her nephews: Steven McLaughlin (Jeanne), John McLaughlin (Kim), and David McLaughlin (Eileen) whom she called her gentlemen. She loved hearing about their children and following their milestones: Lindsay (Stephen), Colin, Megan (Ryan), Emma, Erin, and Alaina. Aunt Pat was blessed with a great great niece, Sophia and a great great nephew, Baby Shane Patrick (Lindsay and Stephen).

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM Friday, August 4, 2023 at Saints Simon and Jude Church at 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, and are welcome to greet the family before Mass at 10:45 AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
