Patricia T. Neville
October 2, 1938 — March 26, 2025
Patricia T. Neville (nee Nolan), of Gladwyne, PA, passed away peacefully on March 26 at the age of 86. She was the devoted wife of Richard for 52 years, proud mother to Rich (Kristen) and Dave (Tara), and loving grandmother to Kellen, Flanner, and Emory. She was predeceased by husband; her parents, Jim and Sue Nolan, and siblings James Nolan Jr., Gerald Nolan and Thomas Nolan. She was the loving sister to her twin Sr. Barbara E. Nolan, SSJ and younger sister Michaeline “Micki” Rodgers (Mike).
Born on October 2, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, Pat attended St. Hubert’s High School and joined the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1956, where she remained a sister until 1970. A 1961 graduate of Trinity College in Washington D.C., she also received a Master’s in Education from Temple University in 1972. While with the Sisters of Notre Dame, she taught English in Washington, New York and Philadelphia.
After leaving the religious life, she met Richard Neville, a former Christian Brother, at a Catholic singles dance in 1972. They bonded over their similar backgrounds in Philadelphia, religious life and education. They were married just three months later at Villanova University and the pair welcomed Rich in 1973 and Dave in 1975.
Pat relished her years as a mom to two growing boys; eagerly participating in the neighborhood babysitting co-op, block parties and Christmas cookie exchanges. After raising her boys, Pat went back to education and taught at Sacred Heart Academy and Upper Merion High School before joining her husband at Villanova University in 1986, serving students in the law school library and financial aid office for the next 13 years.
Family was everything to Pat, and she loved hosting her extended family at Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and serving as a surrogate grandparent to her neighbors before welcoming her own precious grandchildren Kellen, Flanner and Emory.
Funeral Services will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, PA at 11 am on Friday, April 11th, with visitation beginning at 10 am. Following the funeral, interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
The family has created a scholarship fund in honor of Rich and Pat to support outstanding Villanova student leaders. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate charitable donations to the Richard A. & Patricia T. Neville Scholarship Fund for University Leaders at Villanova University.
