Paul Andrew Nappi, 53, of West Chester, PA passed away on July 2nd, 2018. Paul was the beloved husband of Leisa (DeJohn) Nappi; loving father of Alexandra "Allie" and Isabella "Bella"; son of Dominic F. Nappi, M.D. and the late Florence (Donovan) Nappi; son-in-law of Emil and Bette Anne DeJohn.
He was a dear brother of Maria Altamuro (Steve), Christina Krevetski (Don), and Dominic Nappi, Jr. (Terri); and brother in-law of Christian DeJohn (Lindsay).
Paul was a "favorite" uncle to Stephen, Christa, Cara (the Altamuros); Matt, Andrew, Noelle (the Krevetskis); Dominic III, Katie, and Claire (the Nappis); and Josephine (DeJohn).
He was born in South Philadelphia, raised in Cherry Hill, NJ, and resided in Chester County for the last 27 years.
Paul was a graduate of Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, Georgetown University, and Boston College School of Law. While practicing as a litigator, Paul attended Villanova University's Taxation Program and received his LLM in 2008. When he completed the program, he was the third student in its history to achieve the highest grade in every course taken. Paul was the smartest guy in the room, the funniest guy in the room, and the most humble guy in the room. It was a wonderful combination.
Some of Paul's fondest memories were from when he attended Georgetown and was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. He made lifelong friends and loved to spend time volunteering and helping others.
Paul was a man of deep and constant faith. Although it was the most important part of his life, he practiced quietly and humbly, keeping the focus on his relationship with the Lord. His devotion to his Catholic faith was best symbolized by his commitment to daily recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. He spent every Sunday in Church, many afternoons celebrating confession, and said grace before every meal and every water ice in between. He was a member of the Knights of Colombus. He would never refer to himself as "devout", but his actions sent a message and an everlasting example to all who knew him.
Paul's interests were wide and varied. He was a game playing companion to his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed traveling,
superhero movies, action movies, scary movies (really all movies). He was a lover of all animals, but especially his pets Nutmeg, Maya, and Tiger.
Paul was at his best with his children Allie and Bella, and his wife Leisa. They were with him through the good and the bad, whether it was a hospital/rehab stay, doctors appointment, Rita's run, or Fellini's dinner after Mass every Sunday night. Trips to the Ocean City boardwalk, Disney World, Busch Gardens, and constant Gamestop runs. He was the girls' biggest cheerleader and never missed a sporting event, play, sorority function, homecoming, Daddy Daughter Dance, or dance recital. Paul was Leisa's soulmate, he would go to extensive lengths to make her happy and spoil her. Paul's humor, wisdom, and spirit will remain with them forever.
Paul was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma in 2014. Paul fought with humility, strength, and an indomitable spirit. His battle was our battle. During his fight, he never lost his humor, his intelligence, and his grace. He made us stronger and he made us better.
We would like to extend our thanks to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, therapists, and all of the caregivers from Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Penn Radnor, Naaman's Creek Country Manor, and Chester County Hospital. Your kindness and assistance brought a smile to Paul's face during this most difficult time.
