Paul Sundermann

Paul Robert Sundermann of Melbourne, Florida (formerly of Cranbury, NJ and Broomall, PA) passed away on May 7, 2017.
Paul was born on January 2, 1929, son of the late William Henry and Helen (Richard) Sundermann. He was the beloved husband of Joan O'Rourke Sundermann, to whom he was married for 54 years before her death on June 9, 2007. He was the loving father of Anne Maureen and Paul John; devoted grandfather of Paul Steven, Spencer Thomas, and Kyleigh Marie. Paul was predeceased by his two brothers, William and Joseph, and sister Doris Colligan.
Paul graduated from LaSalle College in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. After serving in the U.S. Army, Paul embarked on a career as a sales executive in the metal industry.
A natural athlete, Paul excelled in many sports, favoring basketball, rowing, and golf. In 2012, Paul was inducted into LaSalle College High School's inaugural Hall of Athletics for his achievements with the City Championship Explorers basketball team, 1945-1946. In 2015, he was honored as a part of LaSalle's 1946 crew team, which won four National Championships, four Stotesbury Championships, and four City Championships.
After moving to Broomall, he coached Little League baseball in Marple Township and CYO basketball teams at St. Pius X.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Monday, May 22, 2017 9:30-10:00 AM St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA and to his Funeral at 10:00 AM. Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Luncheon will follow at Springfield Country Club.
