Peizhen Qian

钱佩珍是詹玉龙挚爱的妻子，詹翊强慈爱的母亲。2022年4月12日上午8：46在Lankenau医院，
佩珍握着玉龙、翊强、儿媳沈文静的手平静地去了天堂。她在世的至亲还有丈夫玉龙、儿子翊强
、儿媳文静、孙女詹雨瞳（Viviana）和詹雨眉（Annie）。
佩珍于1947年11月16日生于上海，父亲钱启荣、母亲陆友于。1961年秋季，她考入上海市重
点中学华东师大一附中，与玉龙成为青梅竹马的同学。1966年文革开始，佩珍于68年冬去了上海
崇明新海农场工作。73年底上调至上海铜厂，历任驾驶员、统计员、财务会计等工作。1997年从
厂里退休后，继续在上海人才市场浦东分部工作11年。
佩珍于1976年与玉龙结为伉俪，情深意笃，相濡以沫。1977年他们的独生子翊强诞生。佩珍
华丽转身为贤妻良母、相夫教子，烹饪、缝纫、家务管理样样拿得起，持家有方，教育有度，成
为家庭最可靠的大后方。当时居住处是一个有公公婆婆、五位兄弟家庭同住的大宅。佩珍敬老爱
幼，与长辈、平辈相处融洽，对小辈侄儿侄女也视同己出，关心爱护。
玉龙于1977年参加文革后恢复的第一届高考，进入上海海运学院学习。留校工作至2011年以
教授职务退休。翊强2001年上海交大硕士毕业，同年秋天起在美国约翰霍普金斯大学攻读博士，
2007年获得博士学位。从事医疗人工智能的研究和产业化，并取得一定的成绩。儿媳沈文静2001
年清华大学毕业，同年赴美国密歇根大学攻读博士，2008年获博士学位。2016年获德雷克索尔大
学终身教职。他们事业上的成功离不开佩珍的鼎力相助，佩珍也常常为此感到骄傲而自豪。
2013年翊强和文静的爱情结晶雨瞳诞生，2016年第二个宝贝雨眉出生，就此佩珍与玉龙经常
到美国居住，帮助翊强和文静扶助两位孙女成长。文静称佩珍为世界上最好的婆婆，两位孙女更
是把奶奶夸不离口。美国住宅大，庭院里树木花草多，佩珍内外兼顾。外出采购前，她事先都写
好清单，疫情期间两个冰箱及储藏室都装满了生活用品。窗户上的窗帘，床上的被套，床单都是
她亲手用缝纫机拼接或修补而成，前后院的树木花卉也都是从农场选购后亲手栽培、施肥，使两
个院子五彩缤纷、生机勃勃。每逢节日晚上，院子里灯光闪烁，美好吉祥，这里都有她一份辛劳
。
佩珍生性善良、为人热情、和蔼可亲、温文尔雅、甘为蜡烛、尽心尽责、任劳任怨。在中国
居住时，玉龙带的本科生、研究生视她如母，她经常召集大家一起聚餐。对一些生活贫困的学生
，她还会送衣问暖，力尽一位师母的责任。在美国居住时，强儿与文静交大、清华和美国的同学
也经常能到我家享受她一手好厨艺带来的快乐中国情。佩珍和玉龙还在美国结识了一批志趣相投
的老年朋友，互相走动，交流生活中的情趣。佩珍中西融合的生活能力和热情好客的待人态度，
获得了大家的交口称赞。
世事无常，斯人已逝。佩珍过早地离开了我们这个幸福、美满、其乐融融的家庭，离开了挚
爱她的玉龙、强强、文静和微微、眉眉两位小孙女，离开了她真爱的亲朋好友。我们相信她只是
暂时地离开了我们，她会在天上静静地看着我们，分享我们的喜悦和成绩，帮助我们战胜困难和
挑战，直到我们重逢的那一天……

我们将在2022年4月23日9：30AM至11：00于Donohue殡仪馆（366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA
19087）进行纪念仪式，之后于Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
进行葬礼。

Peizhen Qian, the loving wife of Yulong Zhan, went to heaven peacefully holding the hands of her
husband, son, and daughter-in-law, on April 12, 2022 at 8:46 am in Lankenau Hospital, Wynnewood, PA.
She was survived by her husband Yulong, son Yiqiang, daughter-in-law Wenjing, granddaughters Viviana
(weiwei) and Annie (meimei).

Peizhen was born in Shanghai on November 16, 1947. She was the third child of Qirong Qian and
Youyu Lu. In Fall, 1961, she was admitted to the No. 1 Middle School Affiliated with East China Normal
University, a top middle school in Shanghai, where she met and befriended with Yulong. After the
Cultural Revolution began in 1966, Peizhen went to work at Shanghai Chongming Xinhai Farm in the
winter of 1968. At the end of 1973, she joined Shanghai Copper Factory, and served as driver,
statistician, financial accountant, as well as on a few other positions. After retirement from the Copper
Factory in 1997, she continued to work in the Pudong branch of Shanghai Talent Market for 11 years.
Peizhen married Yulong in 1976, and gave birth to their only son, Yiqiang Zhan, in 1977. She later
welcomed three new members to her family - her daughter-in-law, Wenjing Shen, and two
granddaughters, Viviana and Annie.

Peizhen will be remembered as a kind-by-nature, warm-hearted, amiable, selfless, conscientious
and hard-working wife and mother. She was fully devoted to her family by taking care of everything
from cooking, sewing to housekeeping. Her daughter-in-law and grandchildren considered her as the
best mother-in-law and grandma in the world. Their house is filled with evidence of Peizhen’s hard work.
The trees and flowers, inside and out, front yard and backyard, were planted and grown by her. The
window curtains, blankets, and sheets, were sewed or mended by her. The food stored in the
refrigerators and pantry and favored by each household member was purchased by her. Her love is
everywhere.

Peizhen was also dedicated to supporting her family members’ career. Yulong was admitted to the
Shanghai Maritime University after the Cultural Revolution and later became a college professor. Yiqiang
obtained his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, and married Wenjing Shen who received her Ph.D.
from the University of Michigan. These achievements could not have been possible without Peizhen’s
support, and she has always taken a pride in them.

Peizhen will also be remembered as a kind and warm person by people outside of the family. At
their early marriage Peizhen and Yulong were living with Yulong’s parents and five sibling families in the
same household. Caring and loving as she always is, Peizhen respected the old and loved the young, got
along well with the elders and the peers, and treated the younger nephews and nieces like her own.
When she lived in China, she was regarded as a mother by many of Yulong's students.

As a master cook, she constantly invited the students for dinner, and provided clothing and food to those financially-
struggled ones. She also cooked numerous dinners for Yiqiang and Wenjing’s classmates and friends.
The world is impermanent, and the people are passing away. Peizhen left her happy family,
relatives, and friends prematurely, who loved her wholeheartedly. She will watch them quietly in the
sky, share their joy and achievements, help them overcome difficulties and challenges, until the day she
meets them again...

A memorial service will be held at The Donohue Funeral Home,,366 W Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA
19087 on April 23, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Westmnister Cemetery, 701
Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
