Peter J. Cavaliere, 81, of West Chester, PA, passed away on December 24, 2017.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1936, he was the son of the late Peter and Angelina (nee Belmonte) Cavaliere.
He was the beloved husband of Lena (nee DeLuca) Cavaliere, with whom he shared 55 ½ years of marriage; loving father of Linda DeSantis, Peter Cavaliere, Laura Donnelly, Ronald J. Cavaliere, and Tina M. O'Toole (Bob); devoted grandfather of Lauren Masucci (Mike), Kelly Donnelly, Cody Jonathan O'Toole, and Samantha Rose O'Toole; adoring great-grandfather of Lucas Peter and Anthony Michael Masucci; dear brother of Louise Hogan.
Peter was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He attended daily Mass at SS Simon & Jude Church where he shared leading the rosary before Mass and led the Divine Mercy Chaplet after Mass. He was active in the Crusade Prayer group and Flame of Love and helped in other areas of the Church as well.
Peter was an avid Yankee fan and Joe DiMaggio was his hero. He loved golfing, but had to give it up after his knee replacement. Peter always looked forward to spending time during the summer at Bethany Beach every year.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, December 28, 2017 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000 and 10:00-10:50 AM Friday at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery.
