Peter Dooner, Jr.
November 22, 1929 — February 21, 2014
Peter S. Dooner Jr., 84, of Gladwyne, a former advertising and steel pipe executive, died Friday February 21 after a long illness at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Dooner was a graduate of La Salle High School and Villanova University. After graduating from college in 1951, Mr. Dooner worked for the Ullman Agency and Gray & Rogers before joining John Maneely Company in 1972 as VP of Electrical Sales.
Pete Dooner III, his son, said "Dad was widely respected in the electrical industry as a gentleman and a dedicated sales executive. His true joy, however, was being surrounded by his five children and sixteen grandchildren, including triplets and twins." He enjoyed golfing at Overbrook Golf Club and Atlantic City Country Club and swimming in Ocean City, NJ during summertime.
Mr. Dooner is survived by his loving wife Marie (ReRe), nee O'Donnell. He was the devoted father of Peter (Deirdre), Diane Murphy (Brian), Amy Brennan, Thomas (Jane) and Katherine Loftus (Robert). Pete said, "he was completely dedicated to Mom for 57 years of marriage. He set an example for us with his commitment and love for Mom. He was a gentleman in the true sense of the word."

Lancaster Ave. Wayne, PA 19087 610-989-9600 and Friday 9-10:45 AM St. John Vianney Church, Youngsford Rd. and Conshohocken State Rd. Gladwyne, PA 19035 followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Women's Auxiliary of St. Edmonds Home 320 South Roberts Rd. Rosemont, PA 19010 would be appreciated.
