Peter J. O'Keefe, Jr.

Peter J. O’Keefe Jr. Age 86, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away on Sept. 3, 2023. Beloved son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Mary (Walsh) O’Keefe.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret “Peg” O’Keefe; children, Kathleen McGovern (Patrick), Joseph O’Keefe, John O’Keefe (Norma); adoring grandchildren, Shannon, Katherine, John, Owen, Mackenzie, Caroline, Samantha, Christopher, and Amanda. He was predeceased by his son Peter O’Keefe.

Peter was an avid sports fan which not only included professional sports but Villanova Basketball and his grandchildren’s sports games as well. He loved to travel and spend time with his family at his home in Sea Isle City, NJ. He loved a good dry Rob Roy and Saturdays at the SIC VFW.

Peter attained his B.S. in Economics at Villanova University, and an M.B.A. at Drexel University.  He served as The Director of Recreation for Ridley Township until his retirement where he had also served as Township Commissioner. In the 1970’s, he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 161^st District.  He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, and was recognized for his 50 years of service to the Catholic Youth Organization.  Peter will be greatly missed by not only his many family and friends but all the lives he touched in the various organizations he committed his life to.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thurs., Sept. 7,  9:30am -10:45 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr., Secane, Pa; funeral mass to follow at 11am.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 626 Baily Rd., Yeadon, PA.
