Philip Daniel "Phil" Calabrese

Philip Daniel “Phil” Calabrese, age 74, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA July 1, 1950, he was the loving son of the late Philip and Philomena (nee Rauso) Calabrese.

Phil was the beloved husband of 50 years (October 12th) to Adonna M. (nee Ricci) Calabrese; dear brother of Verna LaRosa (the late Joseph “Joe”) and Elaine Boswell (Bob).

Phil brought excellence to everything he touched. An avid runner and competitor since the 70s, he would take up an interest in an activity and continue to work on it until it was mastered.

Over the years he was involved in: Car Shows (Participating or Attending), Tuning his Vintage Cars, Auto Racing, Gardening, Fitness, Music Appreciation, Winemaking, Magic Shows and his Intricate Woodworking.

When he and Adonna owned Donato’s Italian Specialties you went into the store to place an order, and you always came out with a Joke and a tip on how to prepare the food.

He was always up to the challenge where Adonna affectionally called him her “Renaissance Man” since he could do everything and anything for everyone. He thoroughly enjoyed helping people.

And this is where he shined. He loved people and an attribute of that love was evident by his family and friends. In addition to his extended family (in-laws, nieces and nephews, sisters, etc.) he was surrounded by his circle of friends where many of whom were lifetime. He enjoyed their company and they in turn thoroughly enjoyed being with him. He was their “Beacon”.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:30-11:30 AM Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at SS Simon & Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Interment private.
