Philomena T. Nocella (nee Toraldo), 96, of Broomall, PA, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2017.
Born in Scranton, PA, Philomena was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Mary Toraldo (nee Giordano).
She was a 1942 graduate of Marywood College (currently Marywood University), where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition with a minor in Fashion Design.
After graduating, she moved to Philadelphia to pursue her career where she met her husband of 55 years, Mario A. Nocella (predeceased). She was a Registered Dietitian who worked in and consulted with medical centers throughout the Philadephia area, including Delaware County Memorial Hospital, before retiring at the age of 81.
She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Philomena was the beloved wife of the late Mario A. Nocella; devoted mother of Rosemary Weinstein (Jeffrey), David Nocella (Evelyn), Elissa Nurthen (John), Steven Nocella (Pamela Geller) and Paul Nocella; adoring grandmother of Nick, Alexandra, John Michael, Christopher, Maria, Kathryn, Cara Lisa, Matthew, Nicholas, Ean, Maxwell and great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace. Loving Aunt to multiple nieces and nephews.
