Phyllis Burke

Phyllis Burke (nee Howard), age 88, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on January 20, 2024. Born in Emporium, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ellen (nee Foster) and John T. Howard II.

She had a love and devotion to our Blessed Mother, sharing a Rosary Cenacle with others throughout the years. Phyllis was a devoted Deacon’s wife and embraced the responsibilities that came with it.

Phyllis was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. She was a fantastic cook and was always creating new dishes to have for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and took great pleasure in sharing all her recipes with family and friends. Phyllis worked at Royal Electric from 1972 until her retirement in February of 2023 and considered everyone there family. 

Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Francis B. “Frank” Burke Jr. and mother of the late Fred Jerdan. Loving mother of Catherine Brown, Ellen Croyle (Thom) and Patricia Dever (Gary); caring sister of Alan Howard (Ronda) and the late John Howard (Janet). Also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Bernadette of Lourdes Church, 1035 Turner Ave, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
