Phyllis Waterbury

Phyllis N. Waterbury (nee Nerzig), of Exton, PA went home to the Lord on June 23, 2021. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Philip Nerzig and Helen Nerzig (nee Burns).

Phyllis was the beloved wife of Leslie (Les) G. Waterbury for 47 wonderful years; loving mother of Cheryl (Cheri) L. Rhoades (Ross) and Philip S. Allison; adoring grandmother of Amanda Tuzhyk (Sergey), Stephen P. Thompson (Emma) and Ross Rhoades, Jr.; most recently she became a great-grandmother to Augustine Tuzhyk who was born in March of this year.

Phyllis graduated from White Plains High School, White Plains, NY & Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA. She enjoyed gardening, planting & weeding. Phyllis loved everything associated with the Lord’s beautiful creation. She was active in the Women’s Bible Study at Mission Community Church and taught Sunday School for close to 25 years. She loved the children that she taught and she loved her church! Phyllis volunteered at Exton Senior Living where she played the piano, helped with crafts & ran Bingo. She also enjoyed jigsaw & crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Phyllis worked at Alcoa for 25 years as a Senior Credit Representative. She also loved her cockatiel Rascal (baby Rascal) whom she raised from three months of age. She also loved to work out with her personal trainer, David Fioravanti at Everfit in Malvern where she worked out AND boxed! She even had her own pair of boxing gloves!

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9-11am on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 43 W Lancaster Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335, followed by her Funeral Service at 11am. Interment at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mission Community Church, 64 E Uwchlan Ave #279, Exton, PA 19341, www.missioncommunity.church would help them achieve their new church home, which Phyllis would have loved to see.
