Raymond J. Stratton, 90, of West Chester, PA passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2014.
Born in 1924 in West Philadelphia, Ray was the son of Raymond James and Lillian Stratton.
He attended St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadelphia, PA.
He was a proud U.S. Marine who served during World War II and was a hero at the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Ray owned Stratton's Painting and Decorating for many years.
He was an amateur-ranked tennis player and had a love for horses. But most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed his time with them.
He was the beloved husband of Lucille Stratton; loving father of Barbara Dickie (William G.); loving grandfather of William S. Dickie (Lore), Todd Dickie (Kristen), Kelly Wejrowski (Michael), Ashley Montgomery (Todd) and 5 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000. Interment will be private.
