Regina C. Aitken

March 26, 1955 — October 15, 2024

Regina Catherine Aitken, 69, of West Chester, PA, passed away peacefully in the care of her loved ones on Tuesday October 15, 2024.

Regina was born on March 26, 1955, in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late John F. and Mary H. (nee Kinslow) Aitken. Regina attended Holy Family and St. Francis of Assisi grade schools and graduated from Little Flower High School in 1973.

Regina was passionate about volunteering and participating in community service. She started volunteering as a youth in her church’s store and her volunteerism continued from there.

Prior to retiring in 2016 and moving to West Chester, Regina served as president of the Wissinoming Historical Society and was an active member of the Wissinoming Civic Association.

Regina identified the need to feed the seniors in her community and took action. She assumed leadership within the local chapter of Meals on Wheels, often shopping, cooking and delivering each meal. She also spearheaded the Annual Christmas Dinner for seniors within her community, always recruiting friends, family, and local high school ROTC students to help. Regina was an amazing cook and helped plan and prepare food for many happy family gatherings.

Regina was very artistic and had a flair for style. She could be counted on for designing and creating original costumes for her many nieces and nephews. Regina was an avid reader and enjoyed reading as many as five books a week.

She loved her family dearly and cherished the large family gatherings for any and all holidays. Her presence on this earth will be greatly missed, and she will live on through everyone’s lives she touched.

Regina was the loving sister of John (Caroline), Rosemary, Gregory (Eileen), Cecilia, William (Kathleen), Mildred, Margaret Mary and Laurence (Susan); adored aunt of many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and devoted Godmother of Jennifer Marie. Regina shared a special bond with her great nephew, Liam. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Mary and her brothers Gregory and William.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, October 21, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment is private.
