Regina R. Siberski passed away on October 14, 2024 in Newtown Square, PA at the age of 95. aka: Mother, Regi, Boss & GrandBoss (and for those that didn’t know better: Mrs. Siberski)
Born May 13, 1929 in West Hazleton, PA, to the late Anthony F. and Mary (nee Filipek) Rutecki.
Married since 1959 to the love of her life, Stanley W. Siberski, DDS (1925-2017)…aka: Doc.
Extremely tolerant mother of Duane D. [Linda] Siberski, Laura M. [Dale] Scanlon, Linda M. [Paul] Somogyi, and S. Douglas Siberski; grandmother of Cayley [Patrick] Concannon, Justin Siberski, Eilyse Scanlon, and Misha Somogyi; sister of Florence [George 1980] Mautz, Wallace [Joan] Rutecki, Lawrence Rutecki [2011], and Edmund [Rosalie] Rutecki; aunt of George Mautz, Wally [Trish] Rutecki, John [Cathy] Rutecki, Brian [Rosemarie] Rutecki, and David Rutecki.
Regi earned her RDH from Temple University Dental Hygiene Program. She returned to Temple to teach and also became an oral-hygiene advocate throughout the Marple-Newtown School District elementary schools.
Music was a cornerstone of Regi’s life. She played the piano, organ, accordion, and was a certified calliopist (she has the certificate to prove it!). Growing up, she was organist and singer at Church of the Transfiguration in West Hazleton, PA as well as the piano player for many theater shows. In addition to music, her love of the arts extended her creativity and passion in paintings and writing poetry.
Regi’s business acumen shined when she started/ran a medical automated billing system company ‘Systemedics AMS’ incorporated as REGI LTD (‘limited’…yea, sure!). Eventually she found an ideal arrangement to manage the Doc’s dental practice from home – this worked well for both of them;)
Her research interest, beginning in the late 70’s into the 80’s on the biological effects of non-ionizing radiation (microwaves), was well ahead of its time. Regi was the chairperson of the Township of Newtown Environmental Committee – Radiation and earned the nickname ‘the Witch on the Waves’ (embracing the oft-misspelled moniker ‘Witch’ with a ‘B’). For decades, Regi was a fixture at many Township meetings. She enjoyed introducing herself to attendees and officials, engaging in conversations before and after, and often made her presence known during public comment. (I can hear her now at the Pearly Gates…)
Wherever Stan planned his travels, she happily went along unless the accommodations required camping, RV’s or wagon trains (‘choo-choo train’ sleeper cars were on the edge of acceptable.) She construed her ‘retail therapy’ excursions - in search of anything on sale but especially if marked “clearance” - as exercise since her athletic motivations were otherwise non-existent.
Throughout the years, Regi made lasting impressions on all who happened into her life. Friendships and family grew over the decades. Many of the ‘kids’ from Villanova University considered ‘Boss’ their “Mom away from Mom” where she and Dad essentially adopted scores of them into the Siberski tribe. The door was always open.
Regi was never shy about sharing her thoughts, no matter how kind or brutal, they always came with a piece of her heart. She will be missed by many…family, friends, acquaintances, and enemies alike.
Doc & Boss, together again…good luck Lord!
