Reita E. Marone (nee Wheatcroft), 86, of Ambler, PA and formerly of Springfield, PA. passed away on January 23, 2016.
Born in Cumberland, MD in 1929, she was the beloved daughter of the late Russell D. and Emma Leora (Everstine) Wheatcroft.
She was a devoted homemaker and mother, who after her husband's death in 1978, went to work for State Farm Insurance as an Accounting Clerk until her retirement in 1988.
Reita was a member of the League of Women Voters, Girl Scout Leader, Costume designer for St. Francis Players in Springfield, Blood Pressure Screening Volunteer in Springfield, Springfield Boys Club Booster and Springfield High School Football and Lacrosse Boosters.
She was an avid reader and loved to frequent the Springfield Library. Reita was a travel enthusiast visiting areas throughout the US and Europe.
Reita was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Marone.
She was the loving mother of Andrea Gimbal (Eric) of Ambler, PA, Lisa Wehmeyer (Bill) of Thornton, PA and Michael Marone (Veronica) of Morristown, NJ; loving grandmother of Nathan, Justin, Bill, Ashley, Devon, Emily, Michael, Jr., Andrew and Matthew; dear great-grandmother of Allison, Erin, Claire, Charlotte, Michael, Miles, Anabell and Billy, Jr.; dear sister of the late Russell Dale Wheatcroft.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:00-10:30 AM Thursday, January 28, 2016 and to her Funeral Service 10:30 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300. Interment will be Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Artman Benevolent Fund, 250 N. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
