Rev. William Donnelly

Rev. William P. Donnelly, 85, of Darby, PA, passed away on December 15, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1936, he was the son of the late William J. and Mary Josephine Donnelly (nee Devlin).

Father Donnelly was ordained on May 16, 1964. He served as the Assistant Pastor at St. Joseph Church, Warrington, PA, St. Clement Church, Philadelphia, PA, St. Philomena Church Lansdowne, PA and St. Callistus Church, Philadelphia, PA. He was a teacher at Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote, PA for 7 years and Cardinal Dougherty High School, Philadelphia, PA for 13 years. Father Donnelly served as the Pastor at St. Alice Church, Upper Darby from 1992 until his retirement in 2005.

Father Donnelly was the dear brother of Francis J. Donnelly (Ann). Caring uncle of Dennis F. Donnelly (Ann Marie), Francis J. Donnelly (Eileen), Teresa Wimmer (Scott) and William J. Donnelly (Kait).  Also survived by his grand nieces, grand nephews, and his cousins here in America, among them Most Rev. Joseph F. Martino, DD, Hist, ED, and in County Derry, Northern Ireland.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Reception of the Body 9:00 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA followed by his Visitation 9:30-10:45 AM and to his Concelebrated Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with the Principal Celebrant Archbishop Nelson Perez. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
