Richard Crowther

Richard W. Crowther, age 87, of Springfield, PA, passed away on November 16, 2018. Born in Yeadon, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Rachel (Whitely) Crowther. Richard was self-employed in a long career with H.W. Crowther and Sons. He was a skilled Pattern Maker in the Woodworking Industry. Some of his favorite pastimes were bowling and playing golf. He was a member of the US. Navy from 1948-1952 and served on the USS Halfbeak (SS 352) Balao Class and was also a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of both Submarine School and Sonar School. Richard was the loving father of H. Brian (Margaret), Jeff (Kristen) and Jackie MacNeil (Scott); devoted grandfather to Jake, Ethan, Paige, Fallon, Joshua, Alex Crowther, Kylie and Drew MacNeil; dear brother of John and Bob Crowther and Beverly Purcell. Services and Burial will be private at a later date.
