Richard Francis Dougherty Jr of Havertown Pa passed away unexpectedly on December 1st 2024 at the age of 67. Rich was born in Philadelphia. He lived in Upper Darby Pa and went to St. Laurence Catholic School. He attended Monsignor Bonner High School. He spent his days playing sports and spending time with his friends. This is when he began dating the love of his life, Cathy.
He was employed by Peco/Exelon where he worked for 43 years. He enjoyed coaching Llanarch Hills little league and Drexel Hill basketball and football. After retirement, he treasured his time in North Wildwood with his family. Rich loved cooking, whether it be on the blackstone or the grill. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when it was his grandchildren stealing the show. He loved his family and his life.
Predeceased by his father, Richard Dougherty and survived by his mother, Betty (Long) Dougherty; survived by his wife of 44 years Catherine (Cummings) Dougherty; his children and their spouses, Shawna and Steve Juisti, Richard and Ashley Dougherty, and Michael and Christin Dougherty; and his eleven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Richard's Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024 and 9:00-10:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Laurence Church, 8245 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082. Interment Private.
